Photo reference will be required to complete the commission. The higher quality the photos, the more detail available for the artist to replicate. The more photos provided, the more options we have to find just the right position and lighting to make a great art piece.
Once the photos are received, we will engage in a discussion about the personality and interests of the individual for whom the portrait is intended. For object portraits we will discuss the stories and sentiment they hold.
The artist will use the provided reference imagery and information gathered from the discussion. to create sketches of the final piece.
Once the sketches are accepted by the client, commissions generally take 2-4 weeks to complete, plus 3-5 days to dry completely. After which they will be shipped out (or can be picked up in Mississauga for a $75 discount).
Commissions are completed in oil paint on wood panels, signed on the back, that can be hung without framing.

Add $150 for gilded artwork. This means that elements of the piece are created using thin sheets of gold, as in the leaves of the dog portrait example above.
Artwork that is picked up from the artist (Mississauga) will receive a $75 discount.
pricing is the same for human portraits, pet portraits and object portraits.
You can add an additional person, animal or object to the painting for $50 per additional person/animal/object.
